With that in mind, I thought I would share my own thoughts and views on how you can make the most of any time you have available to you when working on the layout!
Tip 1: Spend whatever time you CAN on your layout, and you'll appreciate it more!
My life is very busy... I have a full time job, I have a family, kids and various other responsibilities which make up most of my time every day... However I try and spend whatever time I can working on my layout, or even just tidying up and planning what I do next...
I find that although the time I DO spend on my hobby may be limited, I appreciate that time more!
I feel that if I had hours and hours of free time every day to spend on the layout, I would probably get bored and burn out fairly quickly.
Tip 2: Focus on what you want to achieve in the time available to be more productive!
If you enter your hobby space with a plan of action, you are far more likely to be able to accomplish what you set out to do.
You'll be more efficient and productive if you have a plan, and less likely to get distracted making cups of tea or seeing what the latest post on Facebook says!
There may be times when you actually manage to get MORE done that you had planned, however on the flip side of that, sometimes your plans may not work out... If that IS the case:
Tip 3: Don't put pressure on yourself to "work" on your hobby!
Remember, this is (usually) a hobby! It isn't a job or family life! It is an escape when you can have your own space to do what you desire!
Unlike when you are working for somebody else, there is usually no responsibility requirements or demands to get something done in a set time...
You don't need to put yourself under pressure when spending time on your hobby. You have enough stress from other places, so don't add to that stress here. Enjoy your time!
